Mini Farm Kennels is located in Hattiesburg, MS, on 20 acres of land out in the country. We are a family of 4 humans, 25 dogs (about 1/4 of which are spayed and neutered). My name is Paula Rintoul, my husband is Marty Rintoul, and our childrens' names are Liselle and Nash.

We have been raising miniature dachshunds since 2001. We knew that after we found Duncan that we could never pick a better breed of dogs to raise. I knew from the time I was a little girl that when I grew up I wanted to do something that involved dogs or animals in general. Living out in the country gives us the perfect setting to have our pets and not have to worry about disturbing our neighbors. Our babies have plenty of room to run and play. Even though our name is Mini Farm Kennels, we do not keep our dogs kenneled. I have an area
that has runs and a heated/cooled indoor area where they stay if they are breeding or need to be separated for one reason or another, but they are never forced to stay penned in a "kennel" for any length of time. The majority of the time they are roaming free in our fenced in back yard and at night they have their own special
place on our patio which is right next to my bedroom door. During the cold months, they have specially designed heated dog houses that they love to snuggle in.

All of our puppies are born and raised inside our home where they can experience life with humans from the moment they are able to hear and see. To read more about the way we raise our puppies you can visit our
Puppy policy/Shipping page.

My husband and I decided that if we were going to start raising miniature dachshunds that we would only continue if we could do it the right way. Meaning, all dogs were to have one on one contact with us every day, the very best veterinary care, and breeding would be kept to a minimum to ensure that our girls and their pups would stay healthy. Our dogs mean the world to us. We do not support puppy mills, pet stores, or anyone claiming that they are breeders just to make a buck. If we break even, we are extremely lucky....so far that hasn't happened. We want to make sure that the dachshund breed continues to thrive and only want to contribute to it's well being.

I encourage people who are interested in my puppies to come here to South Mississippi to pick them up. I want prospective parents to see where and how I raise my pups, what their parents look like in person, know how much I love my dogs and how well I take care of them. I try very hard to screen the new parents to see if the family setting and surroundings will be appropriate for my babies. It is painful to see them go, but if I know they are going to a home where they will be loved and spoiled, then I couldn't ask for anything better.

My puppies that are sold are always welcome back into my home if the new parents see that it is not working for them. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes people make decisions too quickly and find out that they were not ready for a puppy. Raising a puppy to adulthood is HARD work. Especially if you get through it with all of your shoes, furniture, and underwear still intact. I should have taken stock in Hanes underwear when we decided to do this.....:) I will take my babies back at any age and either keep them here with me or find them another suitable home.

Well, I could go on and on...but instead I'll let you take another look around my website to see if your next best friend is waiting on another page.

Thank you for visiting and May God Bless You
Paula
